The Royal Museum o f Northern Antiquitiess is in Christiansborg Palace on the left of the Colonnade. It was instituted in 1807, and increased by contributions from .the Scandinavian countries. .T h e vast extent o f this Collection (7— 8 0 0 0 objects), and its excellently system atic arrangement, are due to the diligence and industry o f its Curator, Etats- raad Thomsen , a gentleman no less distinguished for his Antiquarian kn ow led ge, than for his kind attention to visitors, and excessive good nature. T he Collection is remarkably rich in weapons and house furniture from the early times, viz, from the time when the use o f iron was unknown. The Museum is open, gratis, throughout the year every Thursday from 11 — 1 o’clock; aud from the 1st. May to 1st. Octr. every Monday from 5— 7 p. m.
