VPT, Inc. (VPT®) is a global leader in providing power conversion solutions for use in avionics, military, space, and industrial applications. VPT designs and manufactures high-reliability DC-DC converters, EMI filters, accessory power products, and custom engineering services for the rapid development of critical power systems used in thousands of critical military and aerospace programs around the world. A Virginia Tech electrical engineering professor and research scientist within Virginia Tech’s Center for Power Electronic Systems (CPES) laboratory, Dr. Dan Sable, co-founded VPT in 1993. Dr. Sable also served as the chairman of the Virginia Tech Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Industrial Advisory Board, where he was instrumental in the founding of “Space @ VT,” the Center for Space Science and Engineering Research. VPT developed its first DC-DC converters for reliable operation in space environments, and then expanded into military and avionics solutions. The

company’s successful track-record caught the eye of HEICO, a multi-billion-dollar aerospace and electronics company, which acquired VPT in 2009. As a subsidiary of HEICO’s Electronics Technologies Group, VPT continues to operate with the efficiency of a smaller autonomous company.
