The offer is still valid even if members are booking on to a location/date that has already been discounted. Danes with Hammers Members of IPA Section Denmark received help and hospitality from IPA members in London – prior to and during a trip in March 2015. Martyn Evans, Secretary of London North (of the Thames) Branch gives an account of what happened: “Last December I received an email from a Danish IPA member who needed help planning a trip to London. He and sixteen colleagues had an interest in British premiership football and I was asked if I could assist with arranging a visit to a London premiership club and also to meet for a drink. I was happy to assist. The visitors were due to arrive on the 19th of March 2015. I am not a football fan and my knowledge in this area was very limited so I sought assistance from members by sending an email out outlining the request. I was pleased to get a reply from a London North member who was a serving officer and had worked on the Met Police Football Intelligence Unit. I forwarded the information to the Danish member and as a result he was able to book tickets to see a West Ham United game. After watching the game, the group then visited some London pubs and tourist attractions. Members from the London North, Scotland Yard and British Transport Police IPA branches attended. The evening was most enjoyable and we all learned a little more about policing in Denmark and, most importantly, made new friends. The Danes were most grateful for help provided and we have been invited to visit them in Denmark. Indeed, some of us have remained in touch.” Martyn Evans , Secretary - London North (Of The Thames) Branch
