THE FBINAA CHARITABLE FOUNDATION YOUR GIFT MAKES A DIFFERENCE T he FBINAA Charitable Foundation was conceived

recently, the foundation launched the Science and Innovation Award, which was first awarded in Phoenix in 2019. And of course, the foundation will always be there to assist those in need. Many members receive assistance without asking; a friend or colleague will recognize a need and request assistance be given to the individual. We are currently working hard with the energy of our board members and ambassadors to get the word out on how the Foundation can support our active members. Your Charitable Foundation is an invaluable member benefit! This past year, chapters and Individuals have generously stepped up and created additional support through donations to the scholarship and assistance funds. Whether through raffles at retainers, or donations from the boards, support from individual chapters has grown considerably over the last two years. Our history would not be complete without recognizing the support of businesses and businessmen who recognize the ideals of the FBINAA Charitable Foundation. Specifically, since 2010, 5.11 (Chuck Hauber), and our dear friend and board member Ed Fuller, have provided at such levels that can be directly attributed to our success. Most recently we were blessed with the addition of Robert Rose to our board; Robert is a longtime supporter of law enforcement and has already made significant contributions to your foundation. With your help and support, your foundation can continue to grow and support our brothers and sisters in law enforcement!

when Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast in August 2005. Many of our FBINAA brothers and sisters had suffered catastrophic losses; as a result, several chapters banded together to deliver envelopes containing $1,000 cash to the members who were affected by the devastation. The support from our membership was outstanding! This vision and desire to provide support to the FBINAA membership continued to develop. In August 2010, the FBINAA Executive Board approved and adopted the Bylaws of the newly created Charitable Foundation. The initial Foundation Board consisted of the following:

Kim Derry, Chair Sid Mitchell, Vice Chair Diane Scanga, Secretary Rob Handy, Sec. I Director Bob Young, Sec. II Director John Moran, Sec. III Director/Treasurer Doug Reynolds, Sec. IV Director Steve Tidwell, FBINAA Executive Director

Since 2010, the foundation board has grown and evolved in efforts to consistently provide stability to the foundation; we continually strive to accelerate the support that is provided to our membership and the law enforcement community. Among these achievements, the foundation scholarship program has grown to over 18 awards for incoming college freshmen. Most
