May News 2016 About the Sumner Senior Center Welcome to the Sumner Senior Center. The activities and services of the Center are available to anyone 55 years of age and older. If you are looking for a Senior Center that offers positive changes, wonderful instructors, social interaction and personal training, then our Center is the place for you. Here at the Sumner Senior Center we take pride in assisting you with all the best possible resources we can find. We offer an array of different activities and amenities that we think will benefit you not only today, but on down the road. Feel free to inquire about any of the resources that we are currently offering. Join us for our Mother’s Day celebration on Friday, May 6th. We are excited to have Johnny “Crash” back perform- ing for all of us. Plan to attend our Smartphone/Tech class on the 5th. AARP “Smart Driver” class will be held on the 9th. Don’t miss the all new Brain Training workshop on the 20th. Diabetic Support Group meeting & informa- tional speaker with Powers Funeral Home on the 20th. Spring Tea with the Daughters of the British Empire group is on May 23rd. Bring your daughter and or granddaughter! Design your own t-shirt on May 27th! Choose from butterflies, birds or flowers. Trips this month include: a trip to Lakewold Gardens and lunch at “Steeped in Comfort Tea House” on the 4th, a “Bargain Hunter’s Delight Day “ on the 5th, Lucky Eagle Casino on the 12th, a walk along Chambers Bay on the 13th, & a trip to Poulsbo on the 19th. You can either be dropped off at the Clearwater Casino, or continue on with us to shop, walk Liberty Park, and have lunch on the waterfront. Red Wind casino is scheduled for the 26th. Sign up in the activities book! Trips book up fast around here!! REMINDER: We will be closed Monday, May 30th, for Memorial Day.
