GOAL 1: CREATE A COMPACT URBAN AREA The first goal of Metro Vancouver’s Regional Growth Strategy is achieved by reducing sprawl, expanding infrastructure smartly and cost-efficiently, creating urban areas well serviced by multi-modes of transportation and by focusing develop- ment to a higher density that optimizes a constrained urban land base.
