GOAL 2: SUPPORT A SUSTAINABLE ECONOMY

The second goal of Metro Vancouver’s Re- gional Growth Strategy is achieved by building, expanding and supporting a re- gion with a diverse economic base that takes advantage of its port and that works to support development in a sustainable manner allowing for a future with appropri- ate lands protected for commercial and in- dustrial purposes. Strategies 2.1 Promote land development patterns that support a diverse Regional economy and employment close to where people live. 2.2 Protect the supply of industrial land. 2.3 Protect the supply of agricultural land and promote agricultural viabil- ity with an emphasis on food production.
