Valve World Expo 2010 – final report

The global improvement of the economic situation, rising order levels and a successful fourth business quarter gave rise to exuberance amongst exhibitors and visitors at the first edition of Valve World Expo to be held in Düsseldorf, from 30 November to 2 December 2010. The benefits of moving venue from Maastricht to Düsseldorf included increased exhibitor numbers, more display area, international travel connections, and the quality of the hall infrastructure and atmosphere. Over three days 536 international companies from 37 countries presented the latest technologies, components and systems from the broad field of industrial valve technology. The next Valve World Expo will be held in Düsseldorf from 27 to 29 November 2012, again in conjunction with the professional conference. During three trade fair days, Valve World Expo welcomed 9,800 visitors. More than 60 per cent of these visitors came from abroad, primarily from the Netherlands, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Italy, France, Germany and India. Düsseldorf also drew visitors from the fast growing economic regions in Asia and South America. Around 68 per cent of the trade fair visitors reported to be visiting Valve World Expo for the first time, having never been to the previous events in Maastricht. 25 per cent of visitors reported to be fittings manufacturers, followed by fittings users and visitors from other industry sectors. Approximately 20 per cent were engineering service providers. Most visitors were interested in fittings (52.3 per cent), followed by the product segments fitting-related products (19 per
