LPS Community Report Spring 2019

On behalf of the School Committee, administrators, teachers, and staff of the Lexington Public Schools, I am pleased to share with you our Spring 2019 Community Report . A Message from the Superintendent

A brief report like this can only scratch the surface when it comes to telling the story of the joyful teaching and learning that goes on every day in the Lexington Public Schools. Our goal, therefore, is not to highlight individual achievements and innovations in our dis- trict—of which there are many!—but instead to offer the community a snapshot of the major strategic initiatives currently underway districtwide. If you would like to learn more about what our amazing students and educators are up to, I encourage you to visit the Lexington Public Schools website at lps.lexingtonma.org . If you have questions, concerns, or feedback regarding any of the information provided in this Com- munity Report, we want to hear from you; please contact my office at 781-861-2580. It is an honor to serve as Superintendent of Schools in a community that has such a strong tradition of nurturing its young people with thoughtfulness, compassion, and a commitment to excellence. Thank you for your partnership in the inspiring, vital work of educating Lexing- ton’s youth! - Dr. Julie Hackett, Superintendent of Schools
