Hunts FA 2013 draft

Huntingdonshire FA

Council

MATCHES AGAINST FOREIGN OPPOSITION

Permission to play football matches as above can only be granted by The Football Association, however application forms are available on request from the County Secretary and via download from www.huntsfa.com. Completed application forms are to be returned to the County Secretary, whereupon the Huntingdonshire FA will approve such applications where appropriate and forward directly to The Football Association in London. Please be advised that such applications must be submitted to The Football Association at least 56 days before the date of the match in accordance with Football Association Rule B4(b) in order that international clearance can be obtained, and your match(es) subsequently approved. This covers tours overseas and also when English clubs host matches involving teams from other countries. In order to ensure that the deadline of 56 days as above is met, please ensure that completed application forms are returned to this Association at least 65 days prior to the date of the match(es) in question. Extract from FA Handbook:- “When a request is made for a match to be played against foreign opposition, home or away, the National Association of the opponent’s club must be approached to see if that club is properly affiliated. This takes time, and at busy periods such as Easter and Whitsuntide, when many junior clubs go abroad, frequently consent is not received until shortly before the match is to be played. More unfortunately, notification is received that the proposed opponents are not affiliated, in which case the match cannot be played. Clubs have been severely punished and banned from foreign touring for periods of time for breaches of this rule.” Note: Where such matches involve children under statutory school leaving age applicants must demonstrate that Head Teachers have given approval for players to take part in these events where players are actually being taken out of school even for half a day to facilitate travel arrangements.
