PRESIDENT 48.

At each annual general meeting the President, shall retire but shall be eligible for re-election. Nominations for the office of President, may be made by any member (other than an Associate Member) and must be submitted to the County Secretary by such date as the Board shall prescribe in each year. The president shall be elected by the members at the annual general meeting. Such person shall hold office for a one year term from the annual general meeting at which he is elected until the next annual general meeting but shall be eligible for re-election. The President shall have such rights and privileges as the directors shall from time to time prescribe. Any vacancy in the position of President shall be filled in accordance with Article 46. At the first Council meeting following the annual general meeting in each year, the Council shall decide which Council Members shall be appointed as the Chairman and the Vice-Chairman. Those persons appointed as the Chairman and the Vice-Chairman shall hold office for a one year term from the Council meeting at which they are appointed but are eligible for re-appointment. The Chairman and Vice Chairman shall have such rights and privileges as the directors shall from time to time prescribe. Any vacancy in the position of Chairman and Vice Chairman shall be filled in accordance with Article 46. Life Vice-Presidents may be appointed at any time by the Council. No person shall be eligible for election as a Life Vice-President unless he has been a Member of Council for in excess of 25 years (not necessarily continuous) and in the opinion of the Council given meritorious service to the Association. Life Vice-Presidents shall, on being elected pursuant to this Article, be entitled to remain on the Council and vote at Council meetings for the rest of their lives without the need to be re-appointed. Life Vice-Presidents shall have such rights and privileges as the directors shall from time to time prescribe. At the first annual general meeting and at the annual general meeting in each subsequent year, the Vice-Presidents shall retire but shall be eligible for re-election. Nominations for the office of Vice-President may be made by any member (other than an Associate Member). Such persons appointed as Vice-Presidents shall hold office for a one year term from the annual general meeting at which they are elected until the next annual general meeting, but shall be eligible for re-election. Vice-Presidents shall have such rights and privileges as the directors shall from time to time prescribe.
