This past week we found a recipe for horse treats we decided to give a try. This was easy and fun! The horses LOVE the treats! I will include the recipe at the bottom of this article. We had a tough decision to make with Scooter our little Senior Tennessee Walker. We had to go ahead and retire her at 27 yrs. Her arthritis was getting the best of her and even though she obliged us by serving and doing everything we asked of her without a fuss, I could see that her body isn’t keeping up with her heart. Yes, we could medicate to assist but why, when medicine isn’t good for them either? It’s her time to rest. Scooter is one of the smoothest horse’s I have ever ridden. I swear there were moments when you couldn’t feel her feet

hitting the ground. You felt like you were floating on a cloud. Her canter made everyone smile, it’s amazing really. She was a favorite to ride for all of us that had the honor. She has brought Joy to so many of us, Adults and young folks. We have a bit of a dilemma when retirement happens, this is a forever home for our horses, since we have no space to bring in a new riding horse and keep our retired crew. We have to figure out what to do. A dear sweet friend Pam Sorenson offered to help us and keep her with her retired seniors at River Ridge Farm temporarily until we can relocate to a larger facility. This is working wonderful for Scooter she is getting pampered and loved on daily. I’m paying her a visit this weekend and taking her a few
