I really do not completely understand how scientists do this or the formulas they use. However, these test results are as if the animal has already had 8-20 progeny in the first year or two for bulls or that is a lifetime for most cows. Nothing totally compares to the real thing as in chart number 2, this bull has had some data recorded on over 5,900 progeny. You can see how short his horizontal lines are in the chart, showing how accurate his EPDs are. Not many of us can afford a bull this good or want to wait for a bull to have this number of progeny, therefore Ge-EPDs is the best place to start.
