Lisco & M Diamond Angus Bull Sale

Genomic-Enhanced EPDs

As some of you may have heard, the American Angus Association has changed from a “Multi-Step”process to a “One-Step” process for Genomic-Enhanced EPDs. Having witnessed firsthand the tremendous inaccuracies with the Multi-Step process, it seems prudent, at least right out of the gate, to be suspect of the accuracy of the new One-Step process. Many in academia are claiming it’s an accurate selection tool, but they made the same claims of the Multi-Step process. Providing our CUSTOMERS with ACCURATE data in order to help you in your bull-buying decisions is of the UTMOST impor- tance to us.We take the responsibility of providing you with quality seedstock very seriously. Therefore, we believe it’s in our customers’ best interest to take a wait-and-see stance on the new One-Step process. For these reasons we have not printed any Genomic-Enhanced EPDs in our catalog. In an effort to study, monitor and learn about the new One-Step process, we have DNA tested the following lot numbers: 6, 8, 9, 13, 17, 24, 29, 30, 40, 52, 57, 63, 65, 71, 86, 87, 88 and 89. You can view their One-Step Enhanced EPDs two ways.We will have them available sale day or a few days prior to the sale. They should also be available if you type in the bull’s name or registration number at www.angus.org/Animal/EpdPedSearch.aspx.

Please feel free to call us prior to the sale if you want to discuss this topic further.
