WASTE REDUCTION AND RECYCLING Thanks to initiatives aimed at promoting the circular economy, the group’s total volume of non-hazardousindustrial waste (1) per FTE fell by 8%. 56% of this waste is recycled. Since 2012, Groupe BPCE has worked to improve the accuracy of waste reporting by its constituent entities. Categories of waste include non-hazardousindustrial waste, fluorescent/neontubes and compact fluorescent bulbs, and waste electrical and electronic equipment(WEEE). In addition, the entities have undertakenmultiple initiatives to recycle different types of waste and certain types of products. In the WEEE category, a guide was co-drafted by BPCE (CSR, procurement and IT functions) and Ecologic, and distributed to the

Groupe BPCE institutions to raise awareness and inform them about existing solutions. The guide was presented to the CSR, Logistics and procurement functions by videoconference. BPCE Procurement currently lists five WEEE service providers and/or networks, all of which are EAs/ESATs and/or professional inclusioncompanies. Banking-related waste The increase in the total volume of waste in 2017 can be attributed to the sharp rise in WEEE collected, due to the removal of photocopiersand servers from the branches, re-locationsresulting in the replacementof equipmentand, and improved recognitionof this type waste thanks to awareness-raising campaigns conducted throughoutthe year(see above).

Paper consumption isreducedby: replacing individual printers with shared printers, where users are ● required to go to the shared printer to confirm the printouts launched from theirworkstation,thus avoiding unused printouts;

dematerialization, particularly in customer relations (in-branch ● electronic signature, remote selling, paperless account statements and general termsand conditions of sale); better monitoring of reports submitted by key suppliers, thus ● improving dataaccuracyand completeness;

Non-hazardous industrial waste: paper, boxes, food waste, glass, plastic, metal. (1)
