Web Site Development in Retirement I spent a good part of my career working with programmers and others at Thomas & Betts building and expanding our corporate website and T&B Access. We launched this site before Amazon even existed. As an industry website who sells its product through a world-wide chain of distributors, we are acknowledged as a leader in our industry. But now that I am retired and working on my own, my enthusiasm for developing websites for displaying items and promoting places and things has not diminished. Since retirement, I have developed over ten different websites for different purposes. I shall highlight a few of them here for your reference. • Historic Bolivar Website – www.HistoricBolivarTN.com This site is quite large and contains links to most historic sites in Bolivar as well as many historical events. This site is now being maintained by Sarah Rice at the City of Bolivar and this site is also directly linked to their web site … go to www.cityofbolivar.com and select Visit tab and go down list to Historic Bolivar and click on the button! In this way, this site can be maintained long after my brother Ken and I are gone! This site contains links also to the Bolivar Maps, Billhead Invoice images, Ken ’ s Civil War Book, etc.

• Streetcar Advertising Website – www.streetcaradvertisinghistory.com I built this site to promote my book on Streetcar Advertising Signs . It contains a 165 slide show on streetcar cards as well as a 60-page story of the Life and Times of Barron Collier – the Father of Streetcar Advertising who was born and raised in Memphis, TN (1873 – 1939).

The user can also link to the online library and view all 1,600+ streetcar cards in my image library. The Contact Me tab also includes links to other useful information that I have published.
