College Student Discounts By Lauren Kolacki If you are like me then you know your time spent in college can be described as nothing other than rough. You spend countless hours studying and finishing assignments you didn't know you had, all while trying to balance a social life, extracurricular activities, a job and figuring out what comes next. You experience high levels of stress and workload but low levels of income, yet, you try not to let that stop you from getting the full college experience. Fortunately, some businesses understand that and implement student discounts with presentation of student ID. 1. Technology; you’re a college student now, your computer and apps have become more important than imaginable. You begin to store your life on these devices and luckily many companies understand that. Apple, Microsoft, Dell, Best Buy, HP and Lenovo are all brands that offer discounts with college enrollment proof. 2. Textbooks; the bookstore prices are outrageous that’s why Amazon, Chegg, and other websites provide textbooks for almost half the price. 3. Movie Tickets; Marcus Theaters have $6 student Thursdays that includes your admission and 46 oz. popcorn. Also, a several AMC theaters also provide discounted prices for students. 4. Sporting Events; By looking on sites such as stub hub or seat geek you will find discounted tickets for students or that certain associations have student promotions on dates. 5. Health and Fitness; be sure to check out your school’s gym before splurging. Most tuitions include access to the campus facility or provide a great discount for a membership. Many classes surrounding college campus’ also offer great deals. 6. Banking; presentation of student ID when open a checking account can be very beneficial. Sometimes a student account exempts you from overdraft fees or a minimum amount required in the account. 7. Shopping; Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, Levis, Alex & Ani, ASOS, J. Crew, Madewell, Banana Republic, Topshop, Boohoo, the limited, Ann Taylor, etc. are all stores that provide discounted rates with a student ID. 8.
