49ers do. We run pass plays out of all dif- ferent sets. Defensively, you don't know what to take away. VVhile last season's senior class walked away from St.John's with a stun- ning 42-5-1 record, the field is hardly the only backdrop fo r achievement for Gagliardi's teams. Five players last year earned recognition on one of the GT E Academic All-America teams, which encompass the nation's Division II and Ill schools. Only one other school in the MIAC (SL. Thomas) had one player earn such an honor. This is something of which Gagliardi and his staff are extremely proud. The wins are undoubtedly impo rtant, but the reality is, pro scouts are not booking flights to the Greater Collegeville area like they are Lo the South Bend or Tallahassee vicinities. "It's just good to see Lhem play here and Lhen go on to different careers," Gagliardi said. "He makes football a lot of fun, and you can go to his office, and he's like a friend of yours," said Rondorf, the line- backer. "He'll just talk to you about any- thing-it doesn't justhave to be football all of the time."
