Amber Gibson studied journalism at Northwestern University and now covers luxury
travel, food, wine and wellness for Forbes, Robb Report, National Geographic
Traveler, Saveur and Hemispheres. She’s flown a plane to the Grand Canyon,
spearfished in Mexico and dined with chefs like Francis Mallmann and Massimo
Bottura in their homes, all in the name of work. Her greatest weaknesses are
Champagne, gelato and dark chocolate. Still on her list of places to visit are Japan,
Peru and Morocco.
Sarah Harvey has been writing about the Maldives for eight years and has reviewed
nearly all 120-plus resorts in the tropical archipelago. Having lived in the Maldives,
she is able to dig deep into the nuances between islands as well as shed some light
on the unique Maldivian culture in her articles. Sarah has also written travel, lifestyle
and news articles for various high-profile publications including Fodor’s, the Los
Angeles Times and CNN. As someone who is fascinated by other cultures, she has
lived in seven countries on four continents; taking time to embed herself deeply in
the local culture.
Valentina Valentini is a freelance journalist whose bylines include Vanity Fair, Variety,
New York Magazine and others within the entertainment industry. She has published
personal essays with the Los Angeles Times and Refinery29, and reported features
for VICE, Fast Company and Mashable. In the last four years, she’s focused on travel
and food/wine writing for Departures, BBC Travel and others. Currently, she is
pursuing her Masters in Creative Non-fiction in London.
SMITA AND SANJEEV CHANDRA
Smita and Sanjeev Chandra love to travel the world together, pursuing their
passion for history and cuisine. They have worked together on three best-selling
Indian cookbooks, a cookery app as well as numerous articles. Smita is a cooking
instructor, brand ambassador, recipe developer, food and travel writer, blogger,
TV personality and South Asian cooking expert. Sanjeev is a professor of
engineering at the University of Toronto. A food historian at heart, Sanjeev loves
to explore the multi-layered history of Indian cuisine and the fascinating story of
curry from around the world.
