Taylor-Wilson supplies
hydrostatic pipe testing
machines for higher grades
FIVES Bronx, the global supplier of
Bronx straighteners, Taylor-Wilson
finishing equipment and Abbey ERW
pipe mills, provides pipe testing
machines engineered to reduce delays
on the finishing floor during the testing
phase.
Fives Bronx Inc has received an
order for a Taylor-Wilson hydrostatic
pipe tester from a German company
providing premium tubular solutions
primarily serving the energy markets.
This technically demanding machine
has the ability to test beyond the
standard API grades, and is capable
of testing up to premium Cr13 pipes
at over 1250 bar (18,130 PSI). With
a maximum diameter of 406.4mm
(16") and a heavy wall thickness up to
50mm (1.97") the end load of 8,944kN
(2,010,620 pounds) is one of the highest
Bronx has ever manufactured. With
over 45 Taylor-Wilson hydrostatic pipe
testers in production, this machine will
push the limits of small batch processing
while still providing the highest quality
and flexibility. This machine will also be
designed to facilitate maintenance and
quick tool change.
The Taylor-Wilson hydrostatic pipe
testingmachineswere the first to address
alternative pressures that the American
Petroleum Institute (API) implemented
to deal with the ever changing demands
in drilling for oil in deeper and harder to
find areas throughout the world.
The machines are capable of testing
tube and pipe with OD from less than
25mm to over 660mm. Designs can
accommodate plain end or square
cuts, API line pipe ends, threaded and
coupled ends, mill sawed or pierced
ends.
Driving progress with engineering
solutions since 1911, Fives Bronx offers
a wide range of industrial equipment
sold under the brands of Abbey,
Bronx and Taylor-Wilson, and is a top
manufacturer in the steel finishing
industry for tube, pipe, bar and section
straighteners, hydrostatic pipe testing
machines, rotary cut-off and end-facing
equipment, collapse testing machines,
material handling equipment and other
ancillary finishing equipment.

Tube Russia 2014 gets closer
THE 14
th
Metallurgy Litmash, Tube
Russia, Aluminium/Non-Ferrous follows
on from the successful event held in
June 2013. Taking place from 3 to 6
June 2014, the trade fair will again be
staged at the Moscow fair grounds
Expocentre.
The trade fair trio confirms once
more its leading function as the most
important trade and contact platform
for the metallurgical and tube sectors
in Russia and its neighbouring states.
The quality metal and tube processing
and finishing range offered at the 2013
event attracted a total of 330 exhibitors
and 10,850 visitors from 51 countries
to Moscow. Of the visitors, 95 per cent
were trade visitors, and 68 per cent
came from top and middle management.
The amount of foundry technology
visitors increased considerably over the
previous year.
The Russian market for machinery and
equipment is lucrative, and forecasts say
that demand for metal working machines
in Russia will triple by 2016, reaching
an annual volume of €2.5 billion. The
investment made by Russian and foreign
enterprises in the modernisation or
construction of new production lines in
the country is rising constantly. German
manufacturers are both sought-after
suppliers and investors. For Metallurgy
Litmash, Tube Russia, Aluminium/Non-
Ferrous this means that the demand for
high-calibre ranges from international
manufacturers is also rising.
