Hydraulic OD chopper
OD bead scarfing is a must in welded
steel tube production in order to meet
high standard norms. The well-known
winding technology for scarfed OD bead
does not always comply with a factory’s
safety rules because there has never
been an adequate solution for this issue.
It is easier to use a compact
combination of OD bead scarfing,
which immediately makes small chips
of the OD bead. Alpha Metall provides
this solution – a hydraulic driven OD
chopper available for tube OD up to 24".
