Limited English Proficient Students
LEP Categories:
1. Enrolled in schools in the United States for 180 school days or
less; and,
Was not previously exempted from taking the spring administration of
either of the state's English language arts assessments.
2. Enrolled in schools in the United States for more than 180
school days; or
Was previously exempted from taking the spring administration
of either of the state's English language arts assessments.
3. Does not qualify for inclusion under 1 or 2; and,
Is in a trial-mainstream period, as defined by the department of
education.
