Cold rolled seamless tube manufacturer

passes EN 9100

Duisburg Tubes Production AG (DTP),

a German manufacturer of cold-

rolled, high-precision seamless tubes,

successfully passed the EN 9100

certification process at the end of 2015.

The evaluation procedure was carried

out by TÜV Nord.

“I amso happy and proud of my teamand

company, to accomplish the EN 9100

certification,” said Eduard WJ Regele,

CEO of DTP. “This is an important step

for us and our diversification strategy.

As a long-term supplier for cladding

tubes for nuclear fuel rods we have the

quality management system to also fulfil

aviation industry requirements. The goal

is to find customers and industries with a

special demand for high precision tubes,

with a need for very small tolerance

ranges and perfect surfaces. We have

the stable and capable processes to

meet those demands.”

DTP manufactures and supplies cold

pilger mill seamless tubes, using a

special form of cold rolling. The claimed

advantages are material homogeneity,

small tolerance ranges and a perfect

surface finish. The production and

know-how is highly specialised for

manufacturing and developing seamless

tubes made of zirconium, titanium,

nickel-based alloys and aircraft alloys.

TAP contract for onshore line pipe

Trans Adriatic Pipeline AG (TAP) has

awarded Corinth Pipeworks a contract

for the supply of large diameter pipes,

for a total length of approximately

495km, for the onshore part of the

pipeline across Greece.

The contract for approximately 270,000

tonnes of 48" diameter line pipe was

awarded to Corinth Pipeworks, in

partnership with the Japanese group

Marubeni-Itochi Steel, following

an international tender and a strict

evaluation procedure. Delivery of line

pipes will begin in 2016 and will be

completed in 2017.

Corinth Pipeworks produces steel pipes

utilised in energy projects, specifically

for the transmission of liquid and gas

fuel, and also supplies large diameter

hollow sections to the construction

sector.

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline will transport

natural gas from the giant Shah Deniz

II field in Azerbaijan to Europe. The

878km-long pipeline will connect with

the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP)

at the Turkish-Greek border, then cross

Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea,

before coming ashore in southern Italy.

TAP’s routing can facilitate gas supply

to several South Eastern European

countries, including Bulgaria, Albania,

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro

and Croatia. TAP’s landfall in Italy

provides multiple opportunities for

further transport of Caspian natural

gas to some of the largest European

markets such as Germany, France, the

UK, Switzerland and Austria. First gas

sales to Georgia and Turkey are targeted

for late 2018, with first deliveries to

Europe in early 2020.
