The jewellery that she admires includes
those by Danish jewellery brand, Lind
&
James and paper jeweller Nel Linssen
because they “really push the boundaries
of what you can do with a single material.”
With regards to her own jewellery, she
said, “It would be amazing to have the
showpieces worn on stage by Grace Jones
or Björk.”
With a true passion for her work,
Eleanor hopes to push the boundaries
of jewellery design. “For me, the design
process is about experimentation and
playful exploration of materials and
components. It is about discovery, which is
really exciting.” Though Eleanor admitted
that the stitched coils are time consuming
to make, this effort is reflected in her high
quality designs.“It can take an hour to stitch
only 10 to 15cm of coil so the necklaces
can take anywhere between a day or up
to a few weeks for the showpieces.”With
regards to the design process Eleanor said,
I need to work directly with materials to
get inspirations so I generally go straight to
prototyping to create designs.”
Looking to the future, Eleanor hopes
for her label to reach a wider audience
and to expand her international stockists.
In the meantime, she is setting up a new
website. “I’m launching my new website
in September to include an e-commerce
element which will hopefully enable the
business to grow.” She added, “I’d love to
do some more collaboration with other
designers and I also plan to do a precious
metal collection to compliment the rope
ranges at some point soon.”
