as the collection develo

we saw the Rocha that w

know so well as engulfing dark
tones mixed together with
strong shapely dresses, lace and
leather juxtaposing against one
another so perfectly, and then
when you were least expecting
it, Rocha takes us back to those
summery tones finishing the
collection with a sumptuous
pink dress. It’s a diverse summer
at Rocha this season, full of
shape, colour and grandeur.
If you want graphic shapes
and sharp lines this season,
then look no further than
Jean
Pierre Braganza.
This season
Braganza brought us a highly
tailored, eloquently adorned and
predominately
monochrome
collection,
which
saw
the
partnership of Braganza and
Ukrainian artist
Zinaida Lihacheva,
who influenced the printing of his
spring/summer collection. Here we
saw complete structure as origami
pleats, strong shouldering and
high tailoring took centre stage.
At Braganza, everything was about
shape, from the way the lines on
the clothes hung to the body, to
the semi-dropped waists on
trousers and dresses.It was modern,
sexy and utterly understated.
Unconditional
this season was
strong. Harsh black and jailer stripes
walked down the catwalk mixed with
some luxe leather and a whole lot of
attitude. A mixture of menswear and
womenswear,this show showed you just
how hot androgyny still is and that you
should definitely not be shy of wearing
black for spring/summer 2013. The
collection overall had a nautical theme
with models wearing jumpers inscribed
with ‘Hello Sailor’ mixing up the playful
and tough elements of this collection.
Chiffon was in use as well as laced up
stilettos, a somewhat re-occurring trend
from this season so far. Dresses were
loose fitting and as the show progressed,
injections of canary yellow and bright
pink were brought in to remind us that
yes, this is a summer collection. Overall
a strong and diverse collection from the
London based designer.
