subsea arm of equipment and
services supplier GE Oil & Gas.
Celebrating 30 years of its Oil &
Gas Centre of Excellence in Montrose,
Scotland, the company started work on
a £9 million project to double the size
of the machining facility, with a view to
creating 40 new jobs in the process. It also
announced plans to commission a project
management and systems engineering
hub in Bristol, creating a further 200
jobs, and its Subsea Production Control
Systems Centre of Excellence, in Nailsea,
Somerset, saw an investment of £3 million
to expand capabilities.
From strength to strength
Where there’s a will to exploit the full potential of the UK’s oil and gas
resources, there’s most certainly a way. The UK subsea services sector plays
a key role in this endeavour and has established itself as a burgeoning world
class supply chain.
