Article 63.
Shall an ordinance adopting the updated Official Buxton Shoreland Zoning
Map into the ‘Town of Buxton Zoning Ordinance’ be enacted?
(Planning
Board Recommends) This map is needed to bring the town in compliance with
the mandatory statewide standards for timber harvesting in the Shoreland Zone,
chapter 1000: Guidelines for Municipal Shoreland Zoning Ordinance. This map
will replace the Shoreland Zoning map dated July 15, 1999.
Article 64.
Shall an ordinance entitled “An ordinance to have the statewide standards
apply to timber harvesting in shoreland area by repealing all provisions within
the ‘Town of Buxton Zoning Ordinance’ that regulate timber harvesting and
timber harvesting activities in shoreland with a repeal date of June 17, 2017”
be enacted as follows?
Pursuant to the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 38, Section
438-B the Maine Director of the Bureau of Forestry will be notified of any repeal
and shall thereafter administer and enforce the statewide standards within the Town
of Buxton. This will bring the Town of Buxton in conformance with the mandatory
statewide standards for timber harvesting in the Shoreland Zone. (Planning Board
Recommends)
