Smooth and flexible spiral hoses
Masterflex SE has launched its new
Master-PUR Performance spiral hose.
Inspired by the idea of creating a spiral
hose to meet all of its customers’ most
urgent requirements in one product,
Master-PUR Performance offers a
totally smooth surface for improved
transport flow, greater durability and
reliability, even when transporting heavy
bulk solids under extreme conditions,
and flexibility.
The company claims that as a result of
extensive research and development
in the construction design, materials
and manufacturing processes applied,
Master-PUR Performance is the only
spiral hose to combine all of these
otherwise contradictory features.
The advantages of Master-PUR
Performance are especially evident
when transporting industrial goods.
Heavily abrasive bulk solids and dusts,
such as plastic granules (with a high
GRP ratio), quartz, stones, glass or
ceramic fragments, place enormous
demands on hose durability, meaning
that maintenance intervals are usually
frequent. For this reason, users tend to
rely on heavier, inflexible rubber hoses
or steel pipes for transporting this type
of media.
Master-PUR Performance is designed
to offer an alternative. Its totally smooth
and cavity-free inner surface provides
improved flow conditions with virtually
no flow-loss. As there are no edges or
pores on the inside of the hose to cause
residue build-up, there is no media loss,
and energy consumption and costs are
cut.
The optimised construction design of
the hose profile provides the hose with
greater flexibility. This allows Master-
PUR Performance to be used and
installed in even the smallest of spaces.
Due to the nature of the special materials
used, Master-PUR Performance features
greater abrasion resistance, increasing
its replacement intervals and reducing
maintenance costs. It features improved
pressure and vacuum resistance, as
well as microbe-resistance and anti-
static qualities. It fulfils all requirements
of the standards TRBS 2153 and
Directive 94/9/EG (ATEX 95) for the
avoidance of ignition hazards resulting
from electrostatic charges. The new
hose is available immediately in sizes
from DN 38 to DN 152.

ERW casing pipes
Interpipe has begun production of ERW
casing pipes in accordance with API
5CT standard.
Interpipe NMPP successfully passed the
certification audit and has been given
the license to use the API monogram for
its ERW OCTG product with diameter
from 8

" to 20" (H40, J55 steel grades,
pipe estimated weight from 24lb/ft to
94lb/ft).
ERWcasing pipes produced at Interpipe
NMPP meet standard requirements
and are applicable for the exploration
and operation of oil and gas wells.
Chief commercial officer Fadi Hraibi
said, “The development of new
products is key to success in the harsh
conditions of today’s market. Mastering
ERW casing pipes, as well as the start
of steel billet sales, enables us to
extend Interpipe’s product portfolio to
meet real market needs.”
“For example, ERW casing pipes
according to API 5CT are mostly
requested in the North American
market; as such Interpipe is looking
forward to supplying ERW OCTG pipes
to our existing and potential customers
in the USA and Canada.”
Interpipe NMPP is also currently
beginning to master ERW casing pipes
with an outside diameter of 6

accomplished, Interpipe will certify
the product according to API 5CT
standard.
Interpipe’s products are marketed in
more than 80 countries around the
world through a network of sales
offices located in key markets of the
CIS, the Middle East, North America
and Europe. In 2012 the company’s
mills produced more than 1.1 million
tons of pipe and wheel products.
