Our surroundings is something that all of us
should take into consideration, but imagine being
charged with taking the Internet to four million
people in one of the most fragile environments on
Earth – the Amazon Rainforest.
That is something that Nexans has been tasked
to do, with 7,700km of cables being laid on or
beneath riverbeds that will ensure 52 municipal
areas have Internet connections.
The company has supplied cables that will not
release harmful substances into the delicate
ecosystem, and that have no negative impact on

Continuing along the same environmental
theme, Prysmian has launched new breakthrough
cable technology for the development of power
transmission grids.
This
will
ensure
better
environmental
sustainability, higher electrical performance and
lower costs. The group has already completed the
development and testing of its new cable system.

dealing with something that is the most workaday
