“Full-spectrum G.657A1 AllWave+ fiber will
allow our customers to experience all the
benefits of our AllWave fiber with the added
features of smaller bend radius, lower bend
loss and improved PMD performance.”
AllWave+ is a full-spectrum fiber, offering
the same performance and specifications
as AllWave fiber but with added features
including a 40 percent smaller bend
radius, 50 percent lower bend loss, and
33 percent improved polarization mode
dispersion whilst maintaining a 9.2 micron
nominal mode field diameter to minimize
splice loss to existing single-mode fibres.
Dry cables
Fiber optic network product manufacturer,
OFS has expanded its totally dry cable
solution into a new microcable product
line.
The OFS MiDia ® Dry FX microcable is said
to reduce fiber cable installation costs
and improve safety and productivity.
Cable preparation is streamlined since
the fibers emerge from their buffer tubes
ready for fusion splicing or optical testing,
eliminating the need for cleaning products
and leaving tools and work area cleaner
and safer.
This entirely dry cable technology
replaces the gel-based filling and flooding
compounds traditionally used to prevent
the spread of water in outside plant cables.
MiDia Dry FX microcable is the most recent
development in the OFS range of totally
dry outside plant cable products.
“With their continued focus on reducing
costs, EMEA customers who previously used
gel-based cable designs can now realize
the installation cost benefits of MiDia Dry FX
cables,” said Pierre Marty, executive vice
president sales and marketing for OFS.
MiDia Dry FX is currently available in three
constructions containing up to 144 fibers
and is standard with the OFS bend insensitive
AllWave® + fiber.
