events that have brought together local scientists to
discuss various topics in biophysics. This year, BPS

Networking Event Proposals
Do you have an idea for a networking event and
want to host one in your area? BPS will be accepting
networking event proposals until April 15. If selected,
you can receive up to $500 through the Membership
Committee’s mini-grant program to host your event.

Internship Program—Summer 2014
Objective:
To provide
a unique opportunity to
work closely with senior White House officials
and science and technology (S&T) policy analysts
in OSTP's topic-based divisions (Division intern-
ship), or on OSTP's legal team (Legal internship)
Who Can Apply:
Students who are US citizens
enrolled, at least half-time, in an accredited col-
lege or university during the period of volunteer
service. Students in undergraduate, graduate, and
professional programs in all fields are encouraged
to apply.

Instrument Development for
Biological Research (IDBR)
Objective:

the development, produc-
tion, and distribution of novel instrumentation
that addresses demonstrated needs in biologi-
