Qualified bending technology
KERSTEN Middle East, a joint venture
between Kersten Europe and Kelly Steel
Engineering, specialises in bending
sections and tubes in steel, stainless
steel and aluminium. The company’s
machine park is equipped with a
range of advanced European bending
machines that enable it to bend small to
large tubes (60.3 to 508mm), square or
rectangular sections up to 500mm, and
beams from 100 to 1,000mm.
With a portfolio of projects and
clientele worldwide, Kersten moved
to the UAE to expand its Middle East
presence. Production at the Ras Al
Khaimah production plant started in
2013, and since then Kersten has
executed advanced bending work for
projects in the Gulf Cooperation Council
region, including Mushrif Park (Abu
Dhabi), Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies
(Qatar), the Jumeirah Corniche (Dubai),
and Al Madinah Airport and Riyadh
International Airport (both Saudi Arabia).
“Bending know-how and experience is
of great value in the Middle East,” said
Mike Minten, general
manager at Kersten
Middle
East.
“We
are driven to deliver
high quality products
according to the strict
European quality norms
and regulations.”
On the company’s
plan
for
Kersten
Middle East, Mr Minten
commented,
“We’re
also capable of bending
tubes and sections for
industrial sectors such
as oil and gas, storage tanks, pressure
vessels, infrastructure and landscaping
jobs.”
Critical to Kersten’s aims in the
region is the company’s idea of service
differentiation in the market, and Mr
Minten is intent on ensuring the group’s
skill set is viewed and appropriated in
the industry as a highly precise function.
“Other construction companies in the
Middle East mostly handle fabrication,
and only few of them have bending
machines. However, the specialised
technical know-how, experience, tools
and equipment we’ve gathered in 53
years is something only Kersten Middle
East can offer to the market.”
