Improving mental wellbeing Thinking in a broader sense, the ‘Thriving at Work’ report produced by Lord Stevenson and Paul Farmer in October 2017 set out six key recommendations for employers to implement to improve mental health awareness and support in the workplace. Education plays a key part in implementation, moving away from the ‘after the horse has bolted’ approach and educating to enable early conversations to take place around mental health before situations escalate to ill health and lost time. Incorporating aspects of prevention, early intervention and support for recovery in to your mental health at work plan is a must for sustainability in the long term.
