OFFICE CELEBRATIONS ICMA‑RC recognizes the need to celebrate significant events in associates’ lives including birthdays, marriages, the birth or adoption of a child, transfers or promotions, farewells to coworkers and retirements. At the same time, ICMA‑RC must ensure that it continually provides its clients with the best service possible. The guidelines for parties on ICMA‑RC’s premises are as follows: P P Prior approval from the supervisor must be obtained. P P Whenever possible, the party should be limited to those within the associate’s department or division. P P Unit or departmental parties should be planned before or after work hours, during the lunch hour, or as P P Supplies for all of these types of events must be provided by the department/division or the participants. Pantry supplies provided by ICMA‑RC are for normal pantry use and corporate-sponsored activities. The following require approval by the division head: P P Division-wide celebrations P P Use of email and voice mail to communicate party details outside of the unit or department P P Corporate expenses associated with these parties. Unless corporate expenses are pre-approved, the associates involved incur the cost of the event or celebration. P P Consumption of alcohol. The consumption of alcohol on ICMA‑RC premises or at off-site corporate- sponsored events is permitted only when authorized for special events. THE HUMAN RESOURCES BULLETIN BOARDS In order to maintain an effective vehicle for communicating with ICMA‑RC’s Washington, D.C., and field offices, Human Resources posts and updates information on corporate bulletin boards. These bulletin boards communicate information on federal and state government issues and regulations in addition to ICMA‑RC policies, job openings, and business and special announcements. When applicable, posted information will be communicated to field associates by mail, intranet or ICMA‑RC’s website. You may not post any form of literature, printed or handwritten materials, photographs, or notices of any kind on the Human Resources bulletin boards, walls, or anywhere else on ICMA‑RC property without prior approval from Human Resources. With approval from Human Resources, you may use the bulletin boards in the various kitchen areas, where available. Announcements of religious or political events are not appropriate for posting on the bulletin boards. part of a staff meeting. Alternative times require the approval of the supervisor. P P Use of the first-floor training room must be approved by Human Resources.
