You two have really grown, the last time I saw you two, you were only two years old and three years old. Now you’re eight years old and nine years old!’ grandma croaked, ‘and, Aidan what happened to you?’ ‘Bushfire… we were coming to help you, but then there was a bushfire. A tree fell on my leg and I broke my leg…’ I replied. ‘Oh… I nearly forgot what I came here for, guess what.’ Grandma whispered. ‘What…’ ‘I’m moving to Hawker!’ Grandma said full of joy, ‘and guess who’s coming with me?’ ‘Who…’ ‘Grandad!’ Grandma cried. My heart skipped a beat as she said that and grandad leaped out from behind grandmas back. ‘Grandad!’ Mitchell and I repeated and we both ran over to meet grandad. We both gave him a large hug. But because I had crutches I had to drop one of the crutches onto the floor and hugged him with the arm without the crutches. We finally got back to Hawker at sunset and ate some dinner together back at the little hut. That night I fell asleep very quickly in case anything as chaotic as what today happened tomorrow.
