Chancellor's Teaching Fellows Brochure.2016

Who should I contact if I have questions about the program? Most questions can be answered by visiting our website: www.vccs.edu/careers/diversity-and-inclusion. Hiring is done at the college level so all applicants are encouraged to contact our college deans and program heads to answer college specific questions. You can also contact the program coordinator at: teachingfellows@vccs.edu .

“I have really enjoyed the fellowship and hope to continue teaching in the future. I suggest this fellowship for anyone interested in pursuing a career in an academic setting.” - Jamie Sturgill, Graduate Teaching Fellow

Chancellor’s Teaching Fellows

Gain valuable teaching experience at Virginia’s Community Colleges

The faculty of the future Virginia’s Community Colleges serve a dynamic and diverse student body where one of every three people is a minority, mirroring the commonwealth’s general population. However, our teaching faculty is less diverse: only 19 percent are minorities. To ensure that our community colleges are inclusive and supportive environments for all Virginians, we are striving to build a faculty that resembles our student body. While this program is open to all qualified applicants special emphasis is placed on recruiting from ethnically diverse backgrounds.
