A s the owner of KD Consultants, Dr. Kenneth Earl Daugherty has almost 60 years of professional experience. After beginning his career as a chemist in 1960, Dr. Daugherty continued to excel in the field as group leader of the senior staff at Amcord, director of research and development for General Portland, Inc., director of energy and materials science for the Institute of Applied Sciences, chairman of the analytical division at North Texas State University, and an army colonel/ director of national defense in Dallas. In addition to his active involvement in the field, Dr. Daugherty has also imparted his expertise as a

chemistry professor to students at the University of Pittsburgh and North Texas State University. His executive skills aided him in becoming president and chief executive officer of KEDS Inc. and KD Consultants. He has been a co-owner of Trac Laboratories since 1979. Dr. Daugherty has made contributions to the field as an author of numerous publications and as a patentee. He is a fellow of the American Institute of Chemists and a member of the Research Society of America, the American Society for Testing and Materials, the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Ceramic Society, the American Chemical Society, the Applied Spectroscopy Society, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the Society of Plastics Engineers. Dr. Daugherty prepared for his career through his extensive education, including earning a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1960, a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the University of Washington in 1964, and a master’s degree in business economics from Claremont Graduate School in 1971.
