F or some people, two tablets of Tylenol and a warm, comfortable bed are all that is needed to provide relief from a temporary physical ailment, perhaps due to a pulled muscle or some other recently sustained injury. For others, pain is an albatross, a constant burden that interferes with their personal and professional lives and makes it difficult to accomplish even the most mundane tasks. Dr. Dobritt previously served as an emergency physician at Garden City Hospital and McPherson Community Hospital before practicing industrial and family medicine. From 1986 to 2001, when Tri-County was founded, he was an attending anesthesiologist and pain management specialist in Southfield, as well as president of Northland Anesthesia Associates and Michigan Pain Management Consultants from 1995 to 2000. Having completed residency and fellowship training in anesthesiology and pain medicine, he also received advanced training in several other areas, such as spinal cord stimulation, spinal endoscopy and end-of-life care, which has made him a well-rounded and multifaceted physician. In addition to his in-office practice, Dr. Dobritt has taught workshops, been a course instructor for various medical device providers, and served as an assistant clinical professor for the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He remains active in several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Academy of Pain Medicine, and the International Association for the Study of Pain. He has also edited publications related to his areas of specialty, namely the Journal of Pain Practice, the Michigan Osteopathic Journal and Clinical Updates in Pain Management. Dr. Dobritt earned a B.S. fromWestern Michigan University and a doctorate from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has been listed in several editions of Who’s Who in Science and Engineering and Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, and has been recognized as one of the Best Doctors in America since 2006.
