W ith a focus on and finance law, Rustam J. Gagrat has maintained longevity in the legal field. As a senior partner of the leading law firms of Gagrats in Mumbai and Gagrat & Co. in New Delhi, India, Mr. Gagrat continues to utilize his skills and background to aid those who need legal representation. To prepare for his career, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in politics at Bombay University in 1979, a Bachelor of Arts in law and a Master of Arts at Cambridge University in 1981 and 1985 respectively, and completed the Program Instruction for Lawyers aviation, corporate (M&A) banking,

course at Harvard University in 1993. He is qualified as a solicitor in Bombay and as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England. He has also served on the board of directors of Companies & Mutual Funds and has presented papers at international and domestic law conferences. Mr. Gagrat received the Tata Scholarship, the Rustomji Mulla Prize, the Finance Monthly Deal Maker Award in 2013, and the IFCM 500 Leading Lawyer Award in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Other honors include the Finance Monthly Top 100 International Advisor Award, the Golden Advisor Award, Aviation Lawyer of the Year, the Lawyers World Premier Award, the Innovation and Excellence Award, a feature on IBLJ’s “A List” of Leading Lawyers, the Lawyers Worldwide Award, the M&A Today’s Global Award in 2016, Banking & Finance Lawyer in India in 2017, and Lawyer of the Year M&A in 2017.
