MILLENNIUM

R etired elementary school educator Sandra Kay Goddard began her career as a teacher at John E Gregg Elementary School in 1969. From then on, Ms. Goddard excelled in her profession, taking on responsibilities with diligence and determination. In 2002 she became the media club advisor for Springfield Middle School and a praxis III assessor for the Ohio Department of Education, where she served until 2006 and 2007, respectively. She also acted as a coordinator and co-coordinator at the Edison Local Spelling Bee in 2003. From 1999 until her retirement in 2006, she served as a teacher of elementary grades at Springfield Middle School. In addition to teaching younger students, Ms. Goddard was a cooperating teacher at Franciscan University of Steubenville from 1972 to 1977 and a member of the curriculum and textbook committee at Jefferson County School from 1994 to 1995. She has had the opportunity to be a presenter at several workshops, including the County Teacher’s Workshops from 1992 to 1997,

the Ohio Regional Teacher’s Workshop in 1998, and the Jefferson County Preschool/ Kindergarten Workshop for the American Red Cross first aid course in 2000 and 2002. Aside from her professional career, Ms. Goddard has been an avid volunteer within her community and served on various educational committees. She remains a member of the National Education Association, the Ohio Education Association, the Eastern Ohio Education Association, the Ohio Retired Teachers Association, the Jefferson County Retired Teachers Association, the Edison Local Education Association and the Ohio Valley UNISERV Council. Her successful career is backed by a Bachelor of Science in education and a Master of Education from Miami University.
