B orn in Chicago, Ill., life to celebrating and preserving the area’s rich cultural and geographic history for future generations. An investor with experience in the stock market and real estate, she is also a passionate conservationist who is actively involved in efforts to lessen the use of substances that are harmful to the environment. In particular, she campaigned against Dacthal, an herbicide that some scholars have claimed can be been linked to lymphoma and Parkinson’s disease. Throughout a career in which she explored multiple interests, including architecture, editing and finance, Mrs. Albert has been an accomplished artist and received several awards for her portraits and still life paintings. She is also a charter member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, which was founded in 1987. Other Elizabeth Franz Albert has dedicated a portion of her

affiliations include American Farmland Trust, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Environmental Defense Fund, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Cousteau Society, of which she is a founding member. A former member of the Landmarks Preservation Council of Chicago, she has also bred eight champion miniature poodles. In recognition of her personal and professional achievements, as well as her dutiful civic engagement, Mrs. Albert has been included in Who’s Who of American Women, Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in Finance and Business.
