W ith a Bachelor of Yale in 1950 and 1955, respectively, as well as a Master of Laws in tax from New York University in 1959, Frank Stewart Berall has enjoyed a career of more than 60 years in the legal field. Mr. Berall began his career as an associate with Mudge, Stern, Baldwin & Todd from 1955 to 1957. After leaving that firm, he took on associate positions at several firms, including Townley, Updike, Carter & Rodgers and Cooney & Scully. He relocated in 1960 from New York City to Connecticut, where he worked as an attorney for the Connecticut General Life Insurance Company until 1965 and as an attorney in the trust department at Hartford National Bank & Trust Company from 1965 to 1967. He was also a lecturer at Yale Law School and the University of Connecticut School of Law and as an adjunct assistant professor in the Science and a Juris Doctor earned from

graduate tax program at the University of Hartford. Mr. Berall is a speaker in the field and has been chairman of the Federal Tax Institute of New England since 2010. Mr. Berall is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law, the Hartford County Bar Association, the American Law Institute, the Connecticut Bar Association, the American College of Tax Counsel, the Culver Summer Schools Alumni Association, the Yale Club of Hartford, the Culver Club, and the Tax Club of Hartford. He has accomplished much during his career, including being named one of the Top 50 Super Lawyers by Connecticut Magazine and receiving the Nathan Hale Award from the Yale Club of Hartford.
