D r. Edwin Brockenbrough is a well-respected vascular surgeon and specialist who has been practicing in the medical field for more than 40 years. Dr. Brockenbrough earned a Bachelor of Arts from the College of William & Mary in 1952 and an MD from Johns Hopkins University, where he interned from 1956 to 1957, and he completed his residency from 1957 to 1959. Upon completion, he became a senior assistant surgeon of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute in Bethesda, Md. He then relocated to Seattle, where he worked for the University of Washington as a chief resident from 1961 to 1964, and later as a faculty member of the department of surgery from 1964 to 1975. Wanting to help those in need on his own terms, Dr. Brockenbrough opened a private practice, which he ran from 1975 to 1998.

In addition to his medical career, Dr. Brockenbrough has gained experience in an educational capacity as a clinical professor of surgery at the University of Washington, a position he has served in since 1984. He has also been president of the King County Medical Society, a trustee of Health Resources NW, and medical director of the Pacific Vascular Institute for Continuing Medical Education. He has shared his knowledge of the field by contributing to books and professional journals and extended his services to his community as a senior assistant surgeon for the United States Public Health Service from 1959 to 1961. Dr. Brockenbrough remains active in his field as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Seattle Surgical Society, and as a member of the North Pacific Surgical Association, the Pacific Coast Surgical Association and the American Rhododendron Society. Dr. Brockenbrough has been featured in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the West and Who’s Who in the World.
