The steel industry seems to be thriving with the opening of a new $400 million steel rebar manufacturing plant in Sedalia, west central Missouri. The plant is one of the largest projects Missouri has secured in the past decade.

More than 2,500 people have applied for 250 roles at the site. The full story can be found on page 11.

Also spending money is Indiana Michigan Power (I&M), which has announced plans for a $20 million upgrade to its electric transmission network in Grant county, Indiana. The investment will improve reliability for the area and strengthen the electric grid to support the region’s economic growth. The improvements, which include 34.5kV power lines being increased to 69kV standards, as well as some sections of the line being rebuilt and other sections being re-routed, are expected to be complete by the summer of 2022. Full details on page 16.
