(!l his years Toreras volleyball team saw a new coach, Coach Sue He– gerle-Snyder lead the team to an overall record of 15-16, far better than their past record. Working with many returning play– ers contributed greatly to their success on the court Angie Rais, an Honor– able mention in 1989 in the wee, led the Toreras in kills and solo blocks. Suzanne Le Satz Joined Angie to form a formida– ble duo. Kathleen Hayes provided depth at block– ing spots and newcomer Nikki Wallace provided ad– ded assistance. Her work was so remarkable, Nikki

was named Freshman of the Year and named to the 2nd team All League wee. At the setter position, Captain Kristi Harris and Shannon Mutch shared the position. Shannon closed the season with a high of 333 digs. At the hitting positions, Maria Rickard, Heather Dalley and Kellie Logsdon car– ried the weight for the team. Andrea Bruns, Me– lissa Doell, and shared the hitting position on the other side of the court. As for the future for the Toreras, it is quite high. Only losing three seniors, next years team should be even stronger and a more formidable opponent.
