A favorite saying of the club members was " Damn the torpe– does, full speed ahead." CONSERVATION CLUB 'Cir he Conservation Club was founded in the fall of 1988 under the direction of Dr. Richard Phillips. The club played a key role in bringing an environmental awareness to cam– pus. When the club began, the members hoped to inspire stu– dents, faculty and staff to partici– pate in their goals of making recy– cling a part of life. The Conservation Club set up recycling bins and domes around campus, Environmental Aware– ness Week, and the planting of trees on Arbor Day.
