HELENE LINDSTRAND 5'11" Junior-Ljungskile, Sweden

USO: One of just two juniors on the team... Projected to play in upper half of both singles and doubles, and provide youth– ful team leadership and experience...This past Fall advanced ..._______. to Round of 16 at SDSU Fall Classic, and earned a win at ITA West Regional Championships.. . Last season recorded a solid 7-6 doubles record at No. 2 with Jenny Brown .. . Also played No. 4 singles for 11-7 Toreros that finished ranked 55th in the nation ... In Fall of 2005 earned key win over Camelia Todorovic of Arizona at Wilson/lTA West Regionals.. . Freshman year (2004-05) tallied six combined singles wins playing at both No. 5 and No. 6 singles for Torero team that placed 2nd at WCC Championships during spring season ... During the Fall season reached the Round of 16 at the San Diego State Fall Classic; also qualified for the ITA Southern California Regional Championships. HIGH SCHOOL/PREP: Attended Katrinelunds Gymnasiet... Was ranked among the top-10 in Sweden in the U18 division as a senior in high school. PERSONAL: Anative of Ljungskile, Sweden ... Chose USO because of the weather, the great tennis program, strong academics , and beautiful campus.

MONICA WIESENER 5'6" Junior- Calabasas, California

USO: Wiesener is currently in her junior year of college after transferring this year from UC Berkeley... Projected to play No. 1 singles and No. 1doubles for the Toreros.

COLLEGE: Joined Cal team in spring of 2004 as a freshman .. . In 2005 she played No. 2 singles for the 14-9 Bears that finished with anational ranking of 21st.. . Tallied a 4-4 singles record at No. 2 and finished with 12 singles wins on the year. HIGH SCHOOL/PREP: Attended Calabasas High School for two years, and then trans– ferred to Laurel Springs Academy for independent study...At Calabasas High School, she played on their varsity tennis team ... In her two years of playing on the team, she earned the MVP Award .. . Also named league MVP in 2002 and 2003... An offensive baseliner with top National Junior and Southern California rankings. PERSONAL: Wiesener was born in Los Angeles, CA on December 12, 1985... She grew up most of her life in Calabasas , CA. ..She chose to attend USO because she had heard great things about the coaching staff and the school.
