• Transfer station: Committee members visited transfer stations in Gray, Mechanic Falls, and South Paris to observe operations and collect information on recycling. The committee continues to explore: ◦ Paint recycling: a one-day event at the transfer station for townspeople to safely dispose of old paint. ◦ Composting: establish a composting program for kitchen waste, utilizing services of We Compost It or a similar company. ◦ Speed bump: Noted by many as necessary to slow vehicles as they approach drop-off points. This has been forwarded to the Safety Committee, in response to requests. • Publicity: The committee regularly submits articles to the NGXchange, and to print publications as appropriate.
