LESSON DESCRIPTIONS

LEARN-TO-SWIM LEVELS:

Preschool Group Lessons (Ages 3-5) LEVEL 1 — Preschool Familiarize children to the aquatic environment and help them acquire basic aquatic skills. Help participants begin to develop positive attitudes and safe practices in and around water. LEVEL 2 — Preschool Build on and improve skills learned in Preschool Aquatics Level 1. Increase knowledge of water safety topics introduced in Preschool aquatics Level 1 LEVEL 3— Preschool Increase proficiency and build on the basic aquatic skills learned in Preschool Aquatics Levels 1 and 2. Reinforce water safety concepts and skills introduced in earlier levels and introduce additional water safety topics. PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS Private individual and group lessons are now being offered through the Wytheville Community Center. Private lessons are open to all age groups and abilities. Limited time and space is available for these lessons. Please call 223-3378 for more information. Call for days and times as they vary per instructor Rates: Per half hour: $15 TR; $20 NRPP; $25 NR Per hour: $25 TR; $30 NRPP; $35 NR Requires two-week advance registration. Water Confidence for Adults Discover a welcoming space to build comfort and confidence in the water. This free, two-class series is designed for adults who want to learn or re learn the basics at their own pace. Held in a quiet, private setting while the pool is closed to the public, participants receive gentle guidance and support as they explore water safety, body awareness and

Age Group Lessons (Ages 6 – 12) LEVEL 1 — Age Group

Orient participants to the aquatic environment and help them gain basic aquatic skills. Help participants begin to develop positive attitudes and safe practices around the water. No skill prerequisites, participants start at the age of 6. LEVEL 2 — Age Group Build on the basic aquatic skills and water safety skills and concepts learned in level 1. Prerequisite: Successful demonstration of the Learn to Swim Level 1 exit skills assessment. LEVEL 3— Age Group Build on the skills learned in Levels 1 and 2 to help participants achieve basic water competency in a pool environment. Prerequisite: Successful demonstration of the Learn to Swim Level 2 exit skills assessment.

BE ACTIVE WYTHE AQUATICS

PUMPKIN PATCH Floating 5 TH ANNUAL Don’t miss the 5th Annual Floating Pumpkin Patch where the pool will be filled with pumpkins that will create a unique “patch” for the kids to swim in and search for their perfect pumpkin. Once they find their pumpkin, they can take it to the decoration station where the kids can make their pumpkins unique with a variety of decorations. There will also be games set up on the pool deck for the kids to play. Come join us for a fun filled fall event in the pool!
