Line and Tower Hardware

Hardware Fittings Anderson™ manufactures a complete line of Hubbell ® quality line and tower end hardware to meet all transmission line construction needs. A variety of devices are available to bundle conductors, attach conductors to insulator strings and attach insulator strings to support arms and poles. This catalog highlights Hubbell ® products that are currently available to the Canadian market. The following offering of our line and tower end hardware is manufactured from high strength forged steel. The forged steel offering meets all the required necessary ultimate strengths while also meeting energy absorption requirements detailed in CSA C83 which states: “Level 1 (Energy Absorption) - Level 1 material will provide a minimum energy absorption of 20 Joules at -20°C for three standard Charpy V-notch bars tested in accordance with CSA Standard CAN/CSA-G40.20.” - CSA C83-96 Ball and socket fittings are specified under an ANSI (equivalent to CS class - CSA type) class and an IEC class with respect to insulators. We offer two types of ANSI ball and socket fittings: Standard fittings (rated 30,000 pounds) for ANSI 52-3 (CS-3) and 52-5 (CS-5) class insulators and high strength fittings (rated 40,000 and 50,000 pounds) for ANSI 52-8 (CS-8) and 52-11 (CS-11) class insulators. We offer four types of IEC ball and socket fittings: IEC 16MM, IEC 20MM, IEC 24MM, and IEC 28MM. The ultimate strength rating of our line and tower end hardware indicates the minimum load where rupture may occur. It is a fairly common industry practice to match the ultimate strength of line and tower end hardware to that of the associated insulators. Consequently, the ultimate strengths should not be construed to be a recommended constant tension applied to a fitting. It is expected that the customer will apply suitable safety factors.
